For Kurt, holding hands isn’t a sign of romance, it’s a sign of protection, comfort and the assurance he is not alone. The one thing his father did for him at his mother’s funeral was hold his hand and squeeze it tight and for Kurt, that was enough. The first thing Blaine did when he met Kurt was hold his hand. Though it was presented in a more romantic way, Blaine, a stranger, held hands with Kurt who’s hardly ever been touched by anyone except his father. He straightaway became Kurt’s support. Then, during Pavarotti’s funeral scene, Blaine offers his hand and Kurt took it in a similar fashion that parallels the funeral scene of Kurt’s mother in Grilled Cheesus. Both Burt and Blaine offered their hands – a sign of comfort and assurance – when Kurt needed it. Blaine’s purpose, who he’s supposed to be in Kurt’s life, is that he is part of Kurt’s support system. Blaine and Kurt’s relationship has already been set up to be very important. Out of all the friendships in the show, they’re the closest. They tell each other everything, open up to the other and are unafraid of letting the other see their vulnerability. They are completely, 100% honest with each other. They don’t rose tint or bullshit each other. They know almost everything about each other. Their relationship is one of the most deepest ones on the show and the only one I can compare it with is Kurt’s relationship with Burt. They’re also 100% completely honest and down to earth with each other. Whether it is as a boyfriend, or as a best friend (I won’t go into that, this is in no way a shipping piece) the fact still remains that Blaine is meant to be a part of Kurt’s life in a major way.

Just a concept I came up with after drawing the Harry Potter doll with AJ so often. I’ll bet that AJ brings him everywhere and practices magic with him all the time. :)
